First baseman Ryan Howard is another long-termer having played for the Phillies since 2004. They can always count on him as a solid player and batter. Cliff Lee is one of the Phillies best pitchers, pitching lots of strikeouts and playing strong games for the team. He’s been a force to be reckoned with and is a pitcher the team can really count on when he goes out to the mound. Another one of the team’s starting pitchers Cole Hamels is a leftie who joined this year. The team has high hopes for him tossing some winning games over the next few years. A.J. Burnett is another great starting pitcher who has recently suffered an injury. Jonathan Papelbon is one of the Phillies more valued relief pitchers who can come in and pitch perfect innings to save the game. He’s been with the team since 2012.
